I have included dates up until the end of the school year, but some may change due to unexpected workshops, field trips or in-school activities. I will give you advance notice should something change in the scheduling and you have offered to come in and help.
Reading/working with students: This time involves working one-on-one or in small groups with students. It may include helping students complete self-evaluations, practicing letter sounds, completing activities, reading with them or helping them with other work.
Art/drama: This time involves helping with the chaos that is the Arts in the grade 1 classroom: preparing materials, cleaning up, helping students complete tasks, providing encouragement, enjoying the frenzy. :)
How to sign up: You'll need your email address that you gave to me in September, I'm trying to keep the calendar from being public (if you haven't given me an email address yet, please email me and I'll add you to the list). So if it prompts you for a login, enter your email address. I'm new to interactive calendars, so we'll try it and see if it works. When you click on the calendar link it will open in a new window. You can click on a date and event on the calendar. When the bubble pops up for that date, click on "more details". When the new window opens, click on the "add guests" icon on the right of the page and enter your email address then click "add". You should see your email on the guest list. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click "save". If all goes well, you have signed up to come in to volunteer. Once you have saved, you can exit out of the calendar to come back to the website.
I would ask that you send me an email with the date and time just so I can confirm that it's working as we're figuring out all of the glitches or if you find that the calendar isn't working at all. :) (cara.jelley@ocdsb.ca) Looking forward to seeing how this works for us!
